Horus penetrating eyes
(guardian of history-3•
"..Endeavoring
without exhaustion, he has received the chisel from his
ancestors, the pharaohs, charged with a cultural momentum,
which has propagated light upon the whole world. He is
obsessed by the idea of conserving heritage..."
Said Badr
is fully realizing that ancient Egypt was the dawn of
conscience, also he knows that the conservation of such
heritage is a national assignment for every one of us, in
spite that the eminent thinkers of the Greeks had been
taught in Egypt, the European historians always deny the
role played by ancient Egypt, that is why the role adopted
by
Said Badr
is of critical importance in our contemporary sculpture
movement.
Since
his childhood, he was fond of sculpture. During his academic
career, he was always haunted by a tough mission…
conservation of our national heritage . thus he invites us
to be the guardians for that treasure, with an open eyes and
mind. And how to be a crucible for varied cultures. The
importance of that guardianship is that: the interaction
between cultures is the decisive element and not their
collision. Said is thus a herald that feels the dangers of
future and he is warning us against those who try to
devaluate or deny our heritage. He uses the natural clefts
and fissures in the granite lumps to build up his contrasts.
With the smallest touches upon summits and protrusions, he
imitates his erected, solemn, and monumental granite
artwork. There are an insight that suggests the necessity of
a culture interaction between these silent cities that are
laid down embraced within the mountains, witnessing the
guardians of our history.
The compositions
of
Said Badr
are human
entities that are pulsating with life and awareness. They
are monumental guardians that radiate civilization, that
remind us with Shawky's poetry…"
Who has arrived at the temple of Karnack at Luxury, and knew
about the ruins of Thebe, would surely realize that art is
the beauty in its explicit form..."
